By signing a non-binding letter of intent Tesla and Panasonic launch cooperation in the production of photovoltaic cells and modules in Buffalo, New York.
Under the agreement, which is part of the acquisition of SolarCity, Tesla will use cells and modules in a solar energy system that will work continuously due to storage solutions and energy Powerwall Powerpack.
Thus the company will provide integrated sustainable energy system for domestic, commercial and connected to the network clients.
It is envisaged that Panasonic starts production of photovoltaic modules in 2017 as Tesla is committed to buying them in long term.
