Microchip announced a new family of cost-effective 32-bit microcontrollers

Microchip introduced a new cost-effective 32-bit microcontroller family with a rich set of integrated peripheral modules and large scalable memory, said by the company. “The series PIC32MX1/2/5 combines the most important features of previous series PIC32MX1/2 and PIC32MX5, including Bluetooth, digital audio, USB connectivity, integrated CAN2.0B with DeviceNet addressing industrial applications. 32-bit microcontrollers are targeted at a wide range of applications with requirements for cost efficiency and greater functional coverage – from digital audio devices to industrial communications.

Among the additional features of PIC32MX1/2/5 are maintenance of four SPI/I2S interfaces for audio processing, parallel master port (PMP) and maintenance of the capacitive sensor interfaces, as well as 10-bit, 48-channel, 1 Msps analog-to-digital converter. Microcontrollers are available with memory of 64 kB Flash and 8 kB RAM to 512/64 kB Flash/RAM”, said by the company.
The new series PIC32MX1/2/5 can be used with firmware platform for 32-bit PIC microcontrollers MPLAB Harmony, which offers licensing opportunities, resale and maintenance of software, drivers, libraries and RTOS (real-time OS) from Microchip and from other manufacturers also.
