Yaskawa Electric Corporation and Solectria Renewables announced that they have reached a definitive agreement under which Yaskawa Electric will acquire Solectria through its subsidiary in the United States. Solectria Renewables specializes in the segment of high-performance solar inverters for residential, commercial and utility power systems. The company employs over 160 people across the United States.
“From the new agreement will benefit customers of Yaskawa and Solectria. Yaskawa will provide large-scale, global sales and production facilities, as well as diversification of Solectria. Likewise Solectria will contribute with over 20 years experience in power electronics from which ten are devoted to the PV industry as well as in-depth knowledge of photovoltaic products medium and high voltage. This step will significantly expand our technological expertise and Yaskawa expansion of the renewable energy market,” commented by Yaskawa.
