German investors interested in the production of energy from biomass in Bulgaria. This was announced by Minister of Agriculture and Food Miroslav Naydenov before the opening of agrarian exhibition “Green Week” in Berlin, cited by BNR.
Experts estimate that if the country is carrying out all necessary sanitary felling, the energy that can be derived from biomass is equal to the energy produced in NPP “Kozloduy”.
In Bulgaria, sanitary felling hardly do, are necessary and beneficial to the forest, said Naidenov. By his words now gain 5 million cubic meters of wood annually, and must be at least 2 times more. Not recovered wood, which rots in the forest could be utilized in plants for biomass such as in Bulgaria and that there is a niche market for German business, said the Minister.
Interest in the Bulgarian market are showed and the producers of agricultural machinery and tractors, said Naidenov, adding that we will rely on German support, that the European Commission may authorize a transfer of money to the measure, which provides farmers with funds to purchase equipment.
